New England Classical Academy is an independent, coeducational day school offering a Classical Education which seeks to educate and form young people according to the ancient and traditional understanding of education as the pursuit of wisdom.
The Academy offers an integrated PreK-12 curriculum. The Lower School curriculum draws on the acclaimed Core Knowledge sequence, building a strong foundation in the basic skills for learning – reading, writing, and arithmetic. In the Upper School, students follow the classical course of study, centered on studies in Latin, Greek, and mathematics, and including courses in logic (both formal and informal) and rhetoric. Humanities Seminars bring about in-depth examinations of some of the great classics of Western thought and help foster an understanding of who we are and what that means about how we should act. Students at all levels participate in our vibrant Arts and Athletics programs. The Academy's rigorous college-preparatory curriculum provides young people with the intellectual tools to succeed academically. Our teachers strive to create an atmosphere conducive to high academic achievement and to the development of personal responsibility and self-discipline. NECA students leave the Academy as young men and women – free, wise, and virtuous – well prepared for college, career, and home life, and alive to the richness and depth of the culture to which they are the heirs.
